Day 1

Chiang Mai - arrival day

We will welcome you at Chiang Mai airport or train station. Transfer to our hotel, where you will instantly discover the Thai hospitality. After the introduction and briefing on our travel itinerary and Thai culture, we will enjoy ‘Kantoke dinner’ where you can taste all the specialties of Northern Thailand. These dishes are served at round tables ‘Kantoke’ with a classical Thai dance performance. Overnight at Thai- style hotel with swimming pool and nice garden.

 

Day 2

Chiang Mai - Doi Suthep

In the afternoon we visit a Forest temple and at dusk we visit Doi Suthep mountain with stunning views over the city. This mountain inhibits the most special temple of Chiang Mai. By this time the tourist buses will have left so you can explore this magical place in peace and hear the monks ‘chant‘. There is a superb Sunday market where you can find typical Thai souvenirs and clothing.

Day 3

Bicycle Trip - Sunflower lodge

After breakfast we leave Chiang mai city and jump on our bikes. We will ride along vivid green rice fields at our own pace and visit local artisans. Lunch will be served overlooking a large lake surrounded by beautiful mountains. You will think you are in paradise! After the bike ride we head for the Sunflower lodge, where we will be based for 3 days. At the lodge Noi, our host, will make us feel at home and show us around the lodge and jungle garden. Enthusiasts can even sleep in the tree house. The dining hall is half- open air and has a stunning view over the lush green hills.

 

Day 4

Sunflower lodge

Feel free to join our introduction Qigong practice. You will notice that a day started off with Qigong just feels ‘different’. In the afternoon, we walk through the rice fields, visit a local school and explore the village. Immerse yourself in local village life at the hot springs. In the evening, you can try the renowned Traditional Thai herbal or oil massage.

Day 5 - 6

Jungle trekking

After breakfast we set off on our two day jungle trekking. We hike through remote hill tribe villages. Our trekking guides know the jungle like the back of their hands and will spoil you with their delicious ‘jungle- made’ meals. We stay overnight in a simple hill tribe hut and discover local customs and traditions.  On the second day we return to Chiang Mai, where we stay at the same hotel. Those interested can join the Thursday mindful meditation group .

Day 7

Chiang mai

Today we explore Thai cuisine, which is renowned world- wide and one of the best in the East. Our Thai chef, will guide us through his organic garden and share the secrets of his delightful food. Once we have learned the basics we can experiment and add our own touch. Our hard work will be rewarded when we will taste the mouth- watering exotic dishes.You can choose to discover the city on your own, if you are not interested in Thai cooking. You can explore the hundreds of narrow streets and temples of the ancient city of Chiang Mai.  

 

Day 8

Pai - elephant bathing

After breakfast, we head off to Pai, a little artistic hippy village in a beautiful valley 120 km away from Chiang Mai. We drive through the mountains with spectacular views of the most beautiful nature and national parks of North Thailand. In the afternoon, we get very close to the most magical animal here in Thailand. A unique experience, we will be able to feed and wash the elephants and learn more their natural behavior.

 

Day 9

Pai - optional 'white water' rafting

Pai river offers one of the best rafting expedition spots of Asia. Today, you can choose to go 'white water rafting' or enjoy the laid- back atmosphere of Pai. Relax at the natural hot springs or just enjoy the sun set behind the mountains.

 

Day 10

Pai - flight to Phuket

After brunch we'll head back to Chiang Mai. On the way, we will pass several national parks with stunning viewpoints. Farewell dinner for the travellers that could only join us for 10 days,  in the evening the rest will fly to South Thailand. Transfer to local fishermen village.

 

Day 11

Phang-gna bay

We explore the Phang-gna bay by boat. In the late afternoon, transfer to a small tropical island in the Andaman see, with beautiful white sandy beaches. We stay at a small eco -friendly resort which has its own private beach.

 

Day 12 - 13 

3 nights stay at beautiful beachfront accommodation. We choose this island because it's nature and culture is well preserved. Time to relax at the pool, rejuvenate and walk along the long sandy beaches. Enjoy the sunset over the ocean.

 

Day 14

Free morning at the resort. We leave our tropical island and travel by comfortable local bus to the other side of the mainland. We watch the sun set behind the green mountains as we leave Surrathani for Bangkok on the night train.  

 

Day 15

Bangkok

We arrive in Bangkok at the break of day. Today we will get to know this impressive city. We will visit Wat Pho, the temple which houses one of the largest reclining Buddha statues and the memorable Grand Palace, containing the Emerald Buddha. Embark on a boat trip along the waterways ‘klongs’ of Bangkok, once known as the 'Venice of the East'. People live on the banks of these canals. You will see mothers doing the laundry while children joyfully play in the water. These sights will undoubtedly immerse you in the daily life of Thai people. Overnight stay in Thai- style hotel, which is located centrally within a university campus. 

 

Day 16

Bangkok - departure day

Today you can choose to just relax at the swimming pool or you can spend your last day exploring more of this impressive city. From 'little India' to 'China town' with the 'Golden Buddha' or visit the famous weekend market.
